Manish Malhotra
is an Indian fashion designer, costume stylist, entrepreneur, and film producer. He studied at Elphinstone College and entered the Hindi film industry in 1990 as a costume designer with Swarg. His breakthrough came with Rangeela, for which his contemporary costumes for Madhuri Dixit earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Costume Design.
During the 1990s and early 2000s, Malhotra became one of Bollywood’s most prominent costume designers, creating notable looks for Sridevi in Gumrah, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, and the ensemble cast of Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
In 2004, he launched his eponymous fashion label, expanding from couture into ready-to-wear and international retail. Beyond fashion, he has also worked as a film producer. Malhotra has collaborated with the Mijwan Welfare Society since 2010, supporting traditional Indian crafts such as Chikankari and Phulkari through his collections.
