John Ortiz Wijdenbosch (Paramaribo, 25 April 1973 - Lelystad, 28 May 2017) was a Dutch actor of Surinamese descent.

John Wijdenbosch came to the Netherlands at the age of 16. Initially he wanted to be a rapper, but by coincidence he applied for a role in the Fort Alpha series. In 2001 Wijdenbosch played in Costa, Monte Carlo and Bradaz. He studied scriptwriter and worked with Wijo Koek on a film he wanted to realize through crowdfunding. In recent years he earned a living as a social skills trainer and mail deliverer.

On May 28, 2017, he and his wife and daughter were killed in an accident on the A6 motorway near Lelystad after he had landed in the water with his car.

Wijdenbosch is buried in the Islamic cemetery of De Nieuwe Ooster. His wife and daughter are buried in Morocco.

John Wijdenbosch was a nephew of Jules Wijdenbosch.
